Is Frontend dead? Didn't AI kill it already? I came to ReactNext Conference to find out.
For years, I've experienced ReactNext from the outside. This year, I finally made it.
Frontend is alive and kicking, folks.
It's well-known that AI leads to an increase in demand for quantity, quality, and speed. It's important to remember that, at the same time, the scope of possibilities for what can be done is growing. In product, development processes, and in responding to the 3 aforementioned demands.
*It's even more important to remember* that quality and responsibility have not yet shifted to AI.
"Do we need frontend people?" I loved Nir Kaufman's answer in the panel moderated by Michal Hershkovitz. The interface between the user (human or agent) and the machine is frontend. It's a world unto itself. As long as this interface exists, someone is needed to provide a solution there.
Another insight from this panel on relevance is: proactiveness.
- Whether it's in job searching due to layoffs.
- Whether it's in keeping up with the pace of technology.
- Whether it's in optimizing work processes and reflecting status to management.
