If someone had told me two years ago that a student from Karmiel would lead the digital presence and value creation for the most prestigious entrepreneurship club at the Technion... I would have thought they were mistaken.
But sometimes, the most significant stories begin precisely when you don't truly "belong" to a place.
The 2nd cohort of Technion VC Club concluded this week, and I want to share with you 2 insights I learned from 18 months of activity in the club, first as the only member who isn't a student at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and then as the head of digital presence and value creation on the management team:
The first insight: Give value. A lot. For free. With a smile. When I was accepted into the club as a student from Braude Academic College, I understood I had been given a rare opportunity. I decided to give back. I summarized every meeting, shared insights, created content. I asked for nothing in return. The result? At the end of the cohort, the team approached me to join the management. But that's not the main thing. The opportunities that opened up for me from students, lecturers, and industry professionals? Incomparable.
The second insight: If you're good but no one knows about it, you're doing the world an injustice. Amazing lectures, workshops with leading VCs, tours of funds. None of this is worth anything if the world doesn't know about it. It's not just a matter of public relations. It's a responsibility. There are students actively looking for exactly this opportunity. There are investors looking for these talents. When you don't share your good, you prevent others from benefiting from it.
