Q1 2026 Review by Roee Bar.
January:
Attended the Ideation to pre-seed meetup of the La La Land Entrepreneurs community founded by Noam Maymon and had an interesting conversation with Ron Kavunovski.
Filming for Campaign #2, Braude Academic College Open Day, with the amazing Lian Cohen.
Submitted my final project and received my degree eligibility for Software Engineering! With my partner Eldar Gafarov and supervised by Julia Sheidin. The main project of the last 6 years is behind me!
February:
Hosted AWS User Group Israel at Google Developers Group Haifa for a meetup in Haifa led by the wonderful Stav Ochakovski and Niv Yungelson. Samer Saida, Nofar Terenyo
Was invited to speak on an alumni panel at an Open Day at Braude Academic College. Link to summary video by the talented Yalon Schori in the comments.
Attended the "Out of the Box Developers" meetup, Season 5 finale. It was enriching and fun to meet colleagues in the ecosystem.
Participated in the Agent Foundation: Agent Development workshop led by Nir Kaufman and was exposed to the world of LangChain. I've been using much of the content I learned in the workshop since then and continued to delve deeper into the field afterward. (I'm integrating LangChain into my website)
Attended the Backstage of a Tech Talk - How Great Speakers Prepare With (and Without) AI meetup. As the name suggests, I was exposed to the behind-the-scenes of tech talks. From idea to CFP submission, to building and presenting, and everything in between. Since then, I've managed to implement insights from my notebook (spoiler for March) in a talk I delivered. (While writing this post, I realized I hadn't published a summary of this amazing meetup!) Much appreciation to the speakers: Shahar Polak, Gilad Shoham, Racheli Ebner, Moran Weber
March:
Upgraded my home workstation to an electric standing desk with 3 monitors (5 including laptops). When they ask me: "If you don't pay for Spotify, what do you pay for?" This. Next step is a treadmill for the station.
Delivered a talk for AWS Cloud Club HUJI, invited by Jonathan Tamir, on how to land your first student job. It had been a long time since I'd given a talk. I was happy to shake off the rust and enjoy myself with great feedback. Link to the recording of the talk in the comments.
Reserve duty.
How was your Q1? I'd love to hear in the comments.
